Why carbon composites?

First answer is weight reduction without losing strenght. Carbon fiber composites have a very high strengh to weight ratio. High tesile strenght is also one of the advantages, our products are very stiff, hard to bend or stretch.

Low termal expansion is also one of the key factors for our choice. For example carbon fiber components are used extensively in launch/reentry vehicles and satellites where the temperatures range from superheated to near absolute zero. The ultra low CTE (Coefficient of Thermal Expansion) of carbon fiber make it ideal for these temperature extremes. So are also perfect for climbing and mountaineering during extremely low temperatures.

Exceptional durability is also a reason thet we use composites. Carbon composites have superior fatigue properities compared to metal. That means the products made of it, simply last longer than made out of metal.

Composites are incomparable in custom products. The only limit in our craft  is imagination.

Why kevlar?

Aramid fiber is essential for reinforcing composites where weight reduction and excellent damage tolerance are required. Kevlar reinforcement make products more resistant to impact or abrasion demage than pure carbon composites.

Like carbon , aramid maintains its strength and resilience down to cryogenic temperatures (−196 °C); in fact, composites are slightly stronger at low temperatures. High tensile-strenght-to-weight ratio; by this measure it is 5 times stronger than steel on an equal weight basis.

What to be conscious to?

Visual inspection of any composite tool is essential before use. If any cracks, pitting or alterations occur please contact the manufacturer for repair or replace the damaged component.

If You are using climbing axes check that screws are tightened correctly. If bolts are already used for a long period of time replace them. While You jam the blade into a crack, please hold the shaft as close to the head as You can, to minimalize  leverage.

Shocks to any composite elements can irreversibly damage them and it is therefore necessary to replace them.

Do not heat composites, it can change their structure and destroy them.
